Diabetes and Nutrition
Do you or someone you love suffer from Diabetes? One of the things that is very important to understand if you have been diagnosed with diabetes is that nutrition plays a major role in combating any further damage from diabetes. Diabetes occurs when the pancreas can no longer produce the amount of insulin necessary to maintain healthy blood sugar levels. Therefore, monitoring your blood sugar levels is very important to staying healthy.
Diabetes is not necessarily a death sentence and it should not be seen as one. However, it usually means a change in your eating habits. It isn’t that carbs are necessarily bad. Rather the quantity of carbs that you consume can wreak havoc on the glucose levels of a diabetic. Make sure you are monitoring these several time a day.
